Product bundle photos: show exactly what is included

Start from the packing list, not the decorative scene. Make every included unit countable, keep optional extras out of the main contents photo, and add a short verified list as separate text. A customer should not need to guess whether the box, spoon or ribbon ships with the order.

Make a packing-list ledger first

Place the physical items beside the actual order or packing specification. Record quantities and whether packaging is included. A three-piece set and three views of one piece are different promises: the image must make that distinction clear.

Etsy's seller guidance identifies group photos as useful for sets and distinguishes them from packaging photos. Use a contents frame for the inventory, then a separate frame if you want to show how it arrives.

Arrange for counting before styling

Leave a small visual gap between units, especially matching bottles or folded cloths. Keep the smallest accessory visible rather than behind the main item. A top-down arrangement can work well for a shallow set; a frontal view may be clearer for tall bottles.

Do not duplicate an item digitally to suggest a quantity you have not checked. If the set includes parts that fit inside one another, take a second photo with them separated. Keep relative scale believable instead of enlarging the smallest piece for visual balance.

  1. Lay out only the units in the selected bundle.
  2. Count the items in the photograph against the packing list.
  3. Photograph hidden parts separately if needed.
  4. Save an unlabelled version before adding a contents list.

Use precise copy rather than a vague feature headline

A useful line might be ‘Includes 2 cups and 1 tray’ when that is the verified offer. ‘Complete set’ leaves the buyer to infer what complete means. If packaging changes with an option, place the condition beside the contents—not in a distant FAQ.

Check the selected variant, not just the master image

A correct bundle picture can become misleading if attached to a single-item variant. Preview the exact selection a customer makes and check that the image, title, contents and checkout option agree. Repeat this when you change a supplier or package configuration.

This planning process needs no paid software: paper, your camera and a packing list are enough. AI may help propose a scene, but generated counts are not inventory evidence. Reject missing, fused or extra objects before using a candidate publicly.

  • Props are clearly excluded or removed from the contents frame.
  • Optional packaging is not presented as standard.
  • The exported text and visible objects agree.
